My reflection (Week 3)

Hello..... Every one,

One thing  I should mention is  that with each week the tasks are getting even more interesting but at the same time more complicated. It was quite a lot of reading. But I enjoyed it . Really, it was  interesting for me to explore the suggested sites, in particular those aimed at developing listening and speaking skills.
I liked http://www.real-english.com.Also Randall's ESL Cyber Listening lab. It provides pre-listening, while-listening and post-listening activities and as well as listening tasks for all levels.
For pronunciation I use www.howjsay .com,really its practical.but this week I learned that there are other websites .Such as:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglishis also useful. But it's mostly for practicing pronunciation
I always use http://www.esl-galaxy.com/speaking.html as you can find practically everything there and it's very convenient with downloads and a lot of  interactive games.
Another site which I really prefere is http://busyteacher.org/ with thousands of printable worksheets and powerpoint-presentations.
All the above mentioned sites can be used for students' .As a teacher
you can decide which one is the best for your students.
I think I will continue exploring all the links the coming weeks.
Another interesting thing was creating my own page on Delicious.com and saving at least 9 bookmarks. I am grateful to D. Donna ,it seems that there is something new every week, something  amazing like Delicious.com
After that ,the third task was reading
InteractiveWeb Project by the Author: Nadina Nicolici from the Lorin Salagean Techn ical High School in Drobeta Turnu Severin, Romania.
Project: Project Report for Lorin Salagean Technical High School.
I really liked her project. There are many things in common between her students and mine. English was their third learning language ,her students in general are having problems with reading (more than five of them) also speaking and writing .The same with my students. Also another thing is in common their love to use internet for playing games as my students. Building Teaching Skills through the Interactive Web When she created and integrated the blog in her teaching, she realized the activity was totally different from her previous English classes, first of all because it was entirely based on technology: no textbooks, no notebooks, only the whiteboard and the computers., everything she needed, at a click's distance. At the same time, the blog included some useful links which
her students could access very easily, to find out what they needed. Involving technology in her classes was something new .
She really did an excellent job.
I hope I could make use of her project to help my students.

For me, (Creating a blog) as anew project.
I think my students would love this idea, and their interest in English would be increased
English lessons will be more interesting. I think they would be enthusiastic about this and curious to try it out.
I think the blog could become a good tool for informal learning, as students would learn by
discovering and having fun at the same time, combining both pleasant and useful things.
That was all for this week,

A fruitful week, hoping that the coming weeks will be more interesting .
Best wishes to you all my friends.
 Yours....Enam

  1. Hi Enam,

Wow, your works are very wonderful and excellent. After I have read your week 3 reflection, I could not wait to complete all of my tasks and assignments. All of them look interesting. You have shared many useful websites for teaching listening, speaking and pronunciation. I really appreciate your kind recommendation. You enable focus on all works that are very helpful to me in order to keep forward and concentrate to them. Besides, we are so lucky that we have a really kind advisor, Donna. She is always beside us and nice to facilitate us following each step.

Cheer you up to move forward and reach the goal!

  2. Hello Enam,
I have to praise your very impressive blog thoughts about the course. It is clear that we in this wonderful learning community are gaining something new every day especially after reflecting our thoughts about it.
The comparison you drew between your students and the targeted learners in Nadia's project is just what Donna asked us to to, I mean to think about our project from the very moment we read the final project report of another one.
I agree with you that we should play on the learner's interests and the factors that increase their motivation.
    Have a nice weekend,
